How it all Started...

It was 1975 when our founder, David Narhi, started Rebuilt Farm Equipment. His main focus was on rebuilding and repainting all manners of farm equipment for resale. He would redo tractors, such as the one seen blow, as well as balers, corn pickers, manure spreaders, and more. His sons, Andrew and Timothy Narhi, would often help him as David was also working full-time to support his family as well as farming his own plot.

One fateful day, David learned that the company he worked for had been bought-out and the new owners were willing to keep him on, but at less than half his current rate of pay. So, with that prompting, he purchased the facility in Morrice, MI and made an official go of it. And RF Engine is still located at that same facility to this day.

Two Companies, One Goal...

Not long after our founder, David Narhi, launched Rebuilt Farm Equipment, his son, Andrew Narhi, started a tractor salvage business called, Shiawassee Tractor. The two companies worked in tandem, and it wasn't long after that father and son merged their companies together to form R.F. Equipment, Inc.

The two worked together, David as President and Andrew as Vice President, for several years, growing the company into what it is today, RF Engine. Sadly, David Narhi passed away in 2007, But his son Andrew is still at the helm of RF Engine as Nivel's Vice President of HD Aftermarket.

Shifting Our Focus...

Over the years, RF Engine has narrowed it's focus with regards to our scope of services and offerings. In the beginning we rebuilt farm equipment of all types. Then we started salvaging tractors and farm equipment for used parts and doing some repairs. After a few years, we moved into the Morrice, MI facility where we expanded our repair and used parts offerings.

Over the next several years we operated a repair facility as well as selling new and used parts both locally and nationally. In the late 90s we started tapering off the repair work and by the early 2000s we had converted our shop into a warehouse and began growing our inventory of new, used, and reman parts with a particular focus on engine parts. By 2010 we had dedicated ourselves to be the best source for heavy duty diesel engines and engine parts, and we continue that trend to this day.

Partnering with Reliance® and Joining the Nivel® HD Family of Companies...

In the summer to 2019 RF Engine joined the ranks of Reliance®, Howard Enterprises®, Tom's Agri-Diesel®, and AgKits® after being acquired by Nivel® and becoming a member of the Nivel® HD family of brands. Post acquisition, RF Engine has remained relatively unchanged with the same skilled and knowledgeable sales and customer service people you've come to depend on as your "Engine & Engine Parts Experts".

RF Engine today...

Now, as a member of the Nivel® HD family of brands, RF Engine is tasked with building the Reliance® line of Cummins® B and C series new long blocks as well as an ever-expanding line of remanufactured long blocks. In addition, RF Engine also offers hundreds of tested used engines as well as acres of used and salvage engine parts!

In 2025 RF Engine celebrated its 50th anniversary and we are so grateful that you, and all our amazing customers, have let us serve you all these years, and we're excited for the next 50-years!
